ZoneAlarm Pro 24-Hour Giveaway.

Check Point Software Technologies is celebrating its 15th anniversary tomorrow by giving away free copies of its vaunted firewall software ZoneAlarm Pro 2009. The promotion runs for 24 hours, from 6 a.m. PST Tuesday, November 18 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, November 19. The ZoneAlarm Pro package features a firewall, anti-spyware, and identity-theft protection that includes daily monitoring of your credit history. The program normally costs $39.95 for a one-year subscription. The offer, limited to one download per customer, is available here. ò€œBy offering Check Point ZoneAlarm Pro free for 24 hours,ò€ said Laura Yecies, vice president and general manager for Check Pointò€™s ZoneAlarm consumer division, ò€œwe are allowing consumers to witness first hand the value and improved protection that comes from our powerful yet easy-to-use firewall.ò€ This isnò€™t the first time that Check Point has given away free copies of Zone Alarm Pro. The company made a similar offer last August 12, in observance of one of Microsoftò€™s ò€œPatch Tuesdays.ò€ Check Pointò€™s motivations arenò€™t entirely altruistic, of course; the product the company is giving away operates on a subscription basis and will need to be renewed in one year if itò€™s to continue delivering value. Assuming this is a subscription program youò€™re interesting in purchasing, however, thatò€™s at least one year you wonò€™t have to pay for.
