ULAN-UDE, RUSSIAN FEDERATION, July 23, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- We would like to introduce a new version of Hardware Inspector Client/Server v2.1 - the bench-marking software for computer hardware and software inventory and management at the global level. The key innovations are computer audit, enhancement of access permission features and a sufficient increase in speed and efficiency of the program. New loading capabilities The new version has an upgraded kernel architecture which significantly extended its efficiency for multiuser work. The program loading capabilities were tested with the concurrent work of five users in the database that contained 21020 computers (more than 400.000 devices) and proved to be excellent. Computer audit Computer Audit is a handy tool that allows you to audit and import devices. Brand new, but nonetheless thoroughly tested this new feature possesses a user-friendly interface and endless customization options, which approximate device import and recognition practically to the power of artificial intelligence. Armed with multi-level uniquness check, Computer audit immediately states the status of a device, ready to import or transfer the item. Close integration with other program features provides all necessary data at the user"s disposal. Multilevel access permission This version of Hardware Inspector features three levels of access permission - access to program features, workplaces tree nodes and device types. The latest feature added is the access permission to device types. It allows you to restrict the access of either individual users or user groups to device types. It provides the opportunity for various specialists to work in a single database without interference. Each user or a user group can either view or edit devices they are given access to. Besides convenience, this feature significantly enhances security options. Upgrade of search tools The search mechanisms were fully revised which allowed to increase the search speed by 1-2 digits for the most often used search criteria. Now the "Search for devices", "Search for licenses" and "Search for expendables" forms work considerably faster! Upgrade of logical integrity check mechanism For data safety, Hardware Inspector always had the mechanisms that check if the items to be deleted have links to other tables in database. If such links were found the program would not let users delete items with links. For convenience, the program now has a new mechanism that displays the links which the deleted item has to other tables in database. So users can view the items with links, change the links and delete unnecessary records. Other changes Hardware Inspector v2.1 compared to 2.0, has 16 innovations, 34 changes, all known errors are fixed.
