With NAND flash prices continuing to drop, makers including Samsung Electronics, Toshiba and Hynix are all focusing on accelerating their process technology transition to lower cost instead of increase storage density per chip. Samsung is planning to advance to 40 nm in the third quarter this year, while Toshiba is heading to 4 3nm and Hynix 48 nm.
