Intel releases 2.10 GHz Pentium M.

Intel today released the latest Pentium M chip in the form of the Pentium M model 765. The Pentium M 765 clocks in at 2.10 GHz, contains 2 MB cache and a 400 MHz system bus. It is part of the latest Intel Pentium M chipset using the "Dothan" core technology. In anticipation of this new chip release Intel earlier in the week dropped prices on older, more slow Pentium M processors. This price drop will likely lead to lower notebook prices and may have been a contributing factor in allowing Dell to have offered $750 off on notebooks this past Tuesday.
