Intel delivers Alviso chipsets for sample production.

Intel has delivered small volumes of one of its Alviso core-logic chipsets, the 915PM, to Taiwan notebook makers, for sample production, with volume shipments of the chips to begin on January 18, 2005, according to sources at Taiwan notebook makers. Intel also plans to start volume shipments of another Alviso core-logic chipset, the 915GM, to notebook makers in mid-February 2005, the sources said.

Electronic Frontier Foundation decodes printer tracking dots.
The next time you use the office printer, you may be printing up a lot more than sales figures or quarterly reports. Many color laser printers are secretly embedding tracking dots, minute and almost invisible yellow specks, on documents. While many have speculated on the meaning of the dots, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) appears to have decrypted the code.

No defects in PS3 stamping parts, says maker.
Taiwan-based G-Shank Enterprise stated that stamping parts it manufactured for Sony"s PlayStation 3 (PS3) game consoles have no defects and should not cause malfunction of the console"s card reader, according to a November 20 filing the company made with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).
