Increasing mobile phone market means decreasing size of mobile memory.

Seoul (South Korea) - According to The Chosun Ilbo, a leading South Korean newspaper, Samsung Electronics will be switching its 512 Mb mobile DRAM to 90 nanometers in the near future. The amazing growth in cellular phones and other portable gadgets that use this memory, has put pressure on memory makers to increase production. The smaller size helps phone manufacturers make smaller and more power-efficient phones. Phones will require more memory as video, music and other multimedia features are added. Two 512 Mb modules can be stacked for 1 Gb. In terms of speed, Samsung"s DRAM modules can process 1.3 Gb of information per second.
