In-flight Internet Coming To US Airlines.

New York (NY) - Starting next Tuesday, airlines in the United States will start offering Internet access - although the first customers will have very limited access. JetBlue will give free wireless access to send emails and instant messages. Web surfing is out of the question because the airline is still having problems with frequent disconnections while the plane flies over the United States. Other airlines like American Airlines, Virgin America and Alaska Airlines will also offer Internet access sometime in 2008. International carriers, like Lufthansa, have had Internet access for a few years. So far the airlines say they have no plans to offer VoIP services for fear of angering the majority of customers who don"t want to be surrounded by a talking mob. Read more … Boston Globe.
