Displaytech Demos Pico- Projector.

Fast switching FLCOS microdisplays and high-brightness LEDs from Osram Opto Semiconductors will power Displaytech"s working demonstration of pico-projection at the International CES show, January 7-10 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The demo projector can output 6-8 lumens, producing images up to 30 inches diagonal depending on ambient lighting.

BFG to launch Ageia physics cards on 9 May.

Lake Forest (IL) - BFG today announced that its Ageia Physx based physics cards will be available in North America, Europe, Japan, Korea and Australia on 9 May.

Asus Teams Up With Garmin for Smartphone.

At CES this year we spent way too much time hounding the Garmin and Asus folks about their respective smartphones. Why arenтЂ™t you displaying them at CES? Any word at all? Come on, you know you want to tell us! Sometimes that works and someone will eventually say something they shouldnтЂ™t. Usually itтЂ™s not much, just a ballpark time on when we can expect a launch. Still, тЂњwe canтЂ™t say anything until the summer,тЂќ is better than, тЂњWeтЂ™re not showing it at CES, end of story.тЂќ

More cache for more speed: AMD launches Athlon 64 X2 5200+.

Sunnyvale (CA) - AMD has begun offering a new processor in its mainstream dual-core lineup. The 5200+ joins the Athlon 64 X2 series as new flagship. There no clock speed increase, but AMD has integrated twice the cache of the 5000+ and re-enters the $400+ segment of CPUs.
