Danaher Tool Group Selects Apptricity Warehouse Management System

Apptricity Warehouse Management System (WMS) gains momentum with new implementation slated at Danaher Tool Group. DALLAS, TX, January 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Danaher Tool Group has selected Apptricity"s Warehouse Management System to automate the movement of its tool inventory through its distribution facility. Danaher products are recognized by professional automotive technicians around the world for their accuracy, durability, and ergonomic design. Hand tools designed for industrial applications offer global growth opportunities based on value-added innovation. "With operations in 125 countries and more than 200 warehouse and distribution centers worldwide, Danaher is a recognized leader in the design and manufacturing industry," said Timothy D. Garcia, CEO and President for Apptricity. "We are excited to be selected by the Danaher Tool Group as their vendor of choice for warehouse automation." The Apptricity solution will operate in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model in which Apptricity hosts the software on its servers. Danaher employees will access the software using a standard web browser from desktop PCs. This will provide both managers and staff an automated system for receiving, picking, putaway, workforce scheduling (wave planning), and inventory management. "We feel the Apptricity solution was particularly right for our warehouse given its modular design and ability to run as a SaaS solution," said Kevin Keller, General Manager of Danaher Tool Group. "We were able to pick and choose from a broad set of functionality that"s right for us, and, we didn"t need to invest in new computers or IT to get the job done." Apptricity Warehouse Management System (WMS) brings together a complete set of capabilities to automate large, global warehouse operations across multiple locations. Built on a proven Software-Oriented-Architecture framework, Apptricity WMS is designed as a collection of inter-connected software modules that allow less complex warehouse and distribution centers to get started with just the functionality they need. This capability was particularly of interest to Danaher, which opted to run Apptricity WMS as a SaaS solution. As a result, the company expects to be up and running in just a few weeks with all the capabilities they need for a rapid return on investment. About Danaher. Danaher (NYSE:DHR), based in Washington.
