DDR2/DDR price gap narrows to 5 percent.

The DDR2 512Mbit price premium over DDR 512Mbit has shrunk to 5%, down from 30% in the beginning of 2005, and DRAM supply is expected to run short of demand as memory makers continue to shift production to NAND flash. Spot prices for DDR2 512Mbit parts continue trending downwards, and they should cross below prices for DDR 512Mbit parts in the third quarter, according to DRAMeXchange.
