Crucial: FB-DIMMs and registered DIMMs will co-exist for the life of DDR2.

Earlier this year, US-based DRAM manufacturer Micron announced industry-first fully buffered dual in-line memory modules (FB-DIMM) using DDR2-667 components. DigiTimes.com spoke with John Stroozas, director of engineering at Crucial Technology, about the FB-DIMM way to the market and some other trends in the memory industry. Crucial is Micron"s division focusing on the online sales of memory upgrades.

ATI R520 to be available in mid-3Q.
ATI Technologies expects to begin volume shipments of its 90nm graphics processing units (GPUs), the R520, R530 and RV515, in the middle of the third quarter, as unspecified issues for manufacturing on 90nm technology will soon be solved, according to ATI Taiwan. ATI also plans to introduce another flagship chip, the R580, in early 2006.
