Consumer Alert: Spammers are beginning Early on IRS Scams

With tax season quickly approaching, SPAMfighter warns e-mail users against spam e-mails being sent from what appears to be the IRS. /Software News Articles/ - BOCA RATON, FL, March 12, 2008 - SPAMfighter is warning users against the early start of tax season spam. "We are used to seeing spammers target e-mail users with seasonal spam. Tax season in the United States is no exception. Tax payers should be very cautious with e-mail regarding taxes, refunds and the IRS this tax season." Commented Managing Director of SPAMfighter North America, Alix Aranza. Spam mails are already being sent from what appears to be the IRS, but is really a scam trying to get e-mail users to click on links. These links, as with all links in spam mails, should be opened with caution. In order to prevent being scammed by one of these fake mails from the IRS or any other tax service, it is important that e-mail users have the right protection in place. Spam and phishing filters, such as SPAMfighter, are able to stop e-mails and scams of this sort. With this protection in place, e-mail users are less likely to be tricked into any fake offers.
