ATI samples next-generation X1000 mobile graphics processors.

ATI today confirmed that it is shipping samples of "all next generation mobile parts" to ODMs and OEMs for qualification purposes. The company indicated that more than one mobile chip is heading into the market, but did not say which actual models the product line will include. While it was unclear when notebooks will be available with processors of the X1000 family, ATI said that vendors currently are "readying for production". Nvidia today released its latest performance mobile graphics processor, the GeForce Go 7800 GTX, and was able to achieve a significant performance improvement over the preceding product generation.
