AMD Launches Another Brand - AMD Game.

AMD announces AMD Game!, a brand targeted towards simplifying and standardizing gaming hardware. Much like the previously released brands from AMD and Intel, it appears the new badging scheme is aimed towards the general consumers looking to for validated solutions for PC hardware. According to AMDs Game! website, they have tested the games, hardware, and components to make sure you get an amazing playing experience, right out of the box. AMD has broken down the requirements into two tiers, AMD Game! Ultra and AMD Game. With a minimum requirement of an AMD Phenom X4 9650, ATI Radeon HD 3870, and the AMD 770 chipset, the Ultra variant promises higher resolutions and higher frames-per-second. While the plain Jane, AMD Game! will deliver at least 30 frames-per-second in most major games and only requires an AMD Athlon X2 5600+, ATI Radeon HD 3650, AMD 770 chipset or Nvidia nForce 500 series chipset. Currently there are is a laundry list of partners. You will be able to find AMD Game! fully configured systems from Alienware and Velocity Micro. Interestingly HP and Voodoo were not listed as partners. Systems are available now with retail availability expected in the second half of 2008. We are happy to see the growing interest in PC gaming and now AMD is adding a much needed program to help continue that trend, Patrick Cooper, director of product group, Alienware. The AMD GAME! Experience enables Alienware to quickly and easily help consumers identify the experience that is right for them and the high performance Alienware solution that delivers it. AMD is optimistic about the new program, but will it appear more than just another marketing scheme from AMD? Consumers have had an eagle eye for sensing rubbish. Just take a look at Intel Viiv, AMD Live. AMD recently also launched another brand dubbed AMD Business Class geared towards small and medium business by offering longer and stable platforms.
